Today, talking about TecAlliance in the automotive aftermarket means talking about the leading company which the aftermarket parts industry has depended on, these last few years, to digitalise most of its data processes.
The shareholders behind TecAlliance include some of the main auto part manufacturers, whose economic potential is indisputable. It is estimated that in 2019, TecAlliance had 630 employees and over €80 million in revenue (source consulted: Dun & Bradstreet).
The question we could ask ourselves is, is there any alternative in the realm of aftermarket part data as complete as the one TecAlliance offers? The answer is, an alternative as complete, NO.
But so, is it possible to function in the aftermarket without TecAlliance’s products? YES, many companies in the sector do not currently use their services and function perfectly.
How do these companies do it? Well, they’ve set up their whole own data management methodology based on their own technology or that of third-party companies (which can be counted these days on the fingers of one hand).
The truth is that data management in the auto parts sector represents a major headache, whether working with the market standard or in an alternative way.
At Factory Data, we have developed our own technology that makes it easier to manage data in an alternative way but even more, this technology improves, in many aspects, several of the limitations inherent to TecAlliance. What have we done to improve it?
Construct an independent data extraction platform, to access all suppliers in the market while conserving historical data (not just data from the last available catalogue).
Create a unique data clustering system, to find more solutions than the ones the manufacturers themselves know about or make public and to do it automatically.
Give our customers the chance to use a real time data access system, to get even more up-to-date info.
Implement a method to calculate market demand as precisely as possible, for all products that exists, regardless of the applications they may have.
