{"id":3300,"date":"2020-10-21T10:43:14","date_gmt":"2020-10-21T10:43:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.factorydata.com\/?p=3300"},"modified":"2020-10-21T10:43:14","modified_gmt":"2020-10-21T10:43:14","slug":"interesting-products-analyze-every-month","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.factorydata.com\/en\/interesting-products-analyze-every-month\/","title":{"rendered":"Interesting products, analyze them every month!"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>Currently, in <strong>Europe there are 17,000 alternators and starter motors in demand<\/strong>.<\/h4>\n<h4>And as we saw a few months ago, demand volume is quite uneven with respect to all products in demand: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.factorydata.com\/en\/2020\/01\/10\/european-2019-market-demand-distribution\/\">Distribution of market demand in Europe 2019<\/a><\/h4>\n<h4>But the fact is, demand \u2013 apart from being <strong>high, medium, low<\/strong>&#8230;\u2013 can also be <strong>rising, falling, flat<\/strong>&#8230;<strong> recent, consolidated<\/strong>, etc. <strong>In addition, a product\u2019s demand type can vary from month to month!<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-3291 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.factorydata.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Interesantes_Type-of-demand-300x101.png\" alt=\"Interesantes_Type of demand\" width=\"454\" height=\"153\" \/><\/p>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<h4><strong>For a purchasing or product assortment manager, keeping track of 17,000 distinct products<\/strong> (only for alternators and starter motors), on top of all the new incorporations which constantly appear on the market,<strong> is an impossible task.<\/strong><\/h4>\n<h4>For this reason, <strong>it is very important to concentrate our efforts<\/strong> on products which are missing from our product range but <strong>exhibit a particular behaviour type in terms of demand<\/strong>.<\/h4>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-3292 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.factorydata.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Interesantes_products-300x110.png\" alt=\"Interesantes_products\" width=\"453\" height=\"166\" \/><\/p>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<h4>Out of all the possibilities of demand behaviour, we will analyse two types we find particularly interesting:<\/h4>\n<h4>1) <strong>Products<\/strong> we consider to be <strong>of recent demand<\/strong>. They are defined as products which, until 24 months ago, had no demand, from 24 to 12 months ago had a non-existent or very low level of demand, and in the last 12 months have shown an interesting volume of demand.<\/h4>\n<h4><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-3303 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.factorydata.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Interesantes_Novedades-ENG-300x64.png\" alt=\"Interesantes_Novedades ENG\" width=\"445\" height=\"95\" \/><\/h4>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<h4>2) <strong>Products with a very important increase in the volume of demand<\/strong>. They are products whose demand level in the last 12 months has been at least 3 times as high as the demand level they showed until 24 months ago.<\/h4>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-3304 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.factorydata.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Interesantes_Incremento-ENG-300x83.png\" alt=\"Interesantes_Incremento ENG\" width=\"448\" height=\"124\" \/><\/p>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<h4>Now the question to answer is, in the last 12 months, how many products have fulfilled these conditions of demand behaviour?<\/h4>\n<h4><strong>In Europe<\/strong>, during the last 12 months, <strong>a total of 46 products<\/strong> which fulfil the conditions established for <strong>recent-demand<\/strong> products have appeared. Some months up to 6 products appear, some months only 1:<\/h4>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-3305 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.factorydata.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Interesantes_Novedades_chart-ENG-300x162.png\" alt=\"Interesantes_Novedades_chart ENG\" width=\"500\" height=\"270\" \/><\/p>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<h4><strong>In Europe<\/strong>, during the last 12 months,<strong> a total of 312 products have more than tripled the demand they showed 24 months ago<\/strong>. Some months over 70 products have behaved this way:<\/h4>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-3306 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.factorydata.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Interesantes_Incremento_chart-ENG-300x170.png\" alt=\"Interesantes_Incremento_chart ENG\" width=\"500\" height=\"283\" \/><\/p>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<h4>Clearly, if we <strong>focus our analytical efforts<\/strong> on products which display certain behaviours in terms of demand, we can<strong> drastically reduce<\/strong> the <strong>time and resources necessary<\/strong> to maintain, over time, an optimal product range that guarantees the highest <strong>level of customer service<\/strong> and allows our <strong>stock to rotate at maximum speed<\/strong>.<\/h4>\n<h4>Can you imagine <strong>being able to automatically identify, on a monthly basis, the products which most interest<\/strong> you in terms of the demand type they show, application segments, technologies, suppliers\/competitors who have them\/or not in their product range, etc.?<\/h4>\n<h4><strong>These days, the use of data analytics tools is more than essential, helping us to simplify and optimise our daily work.<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>By Joan Cab\u00f3s<br \/>\nCEO &amp; founder<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Currently, in Europe there are 17,000 alternators and starter motors in demand.
